Potato River
My dad was at the university in Mumbai (aka Bombay), and he was staying with a roommate from North India.
One time, my dad sung him a well-known Malayalam movie song called R¦Ïßø¢ ÉÞÆØbøBZQ /aayiram paadasvarangngaL/ ("(The Sound of) A Thousand Footsteps"). The lyrics (translated) begin like this:
"(The sound of) a thousand footsteps rang through the air, but even then, Aluva River flowed as usual..."
Now, if you didn't know this before, the word for "potato" in Hindi/Urdu/Hindustani happens to be aloo...
So, naturally, my dad's roommate noticed what a sweet song this was to sing about a potato...
