D'aya, biyu, uku...
My uncle, Raju, once used to live in northern Nigeria, where people speak a language called Hausa. Being very interested in languages, I asked him to teach me some Hausa. So he taught me the numbers like this:
"One is d'aya, two is biyu, three is uku...
"But I don't remember how to say 'four,' because I'd never pay more than three naira for a chicken!"
