Malayalam is Spelled Just like It's Pronounced...NOT!!!
Even though (technically) Malayalam is my native language, I make so many mistakes in it!
Just today (August 9, 2005), I was working on Lesson #10 when suddenly, my dad peeked at what I was doing and told me that I had misspelled the word for "problem."
I had written æµÞÝáM¢ /kozhuppam/ but he told me, "'æµÞÝáM¢" ¥Üï 'æµÞÝM¢" (It's kozhappam, not kozhuppam)!"
I made that modification to every use of the word I had on my site at that point.
A little later, my mom also looked at what I was doing, and SHE said:
"'æµÞÝM¢" ¥Üï 'µáÝM¢" (It's kuzhappam, not kozhappam)!" (Which made me change everything...AGAIN!!!)
